Cow Appreciation Day!!

This is our cow impersonation...our hands are hooves...get it??

I've decided Cow Appreciation Day is officially one of my favorite days of the year. It's an official holiday in our house now. This is my 6th year in a row doing it and the tradition lives on joyously! After all, who doesn't love a free meal?? Especially one from Chick-fil-A. Best tradition ever :)

Our 4th of July holiday

Our 4th of July was pretty fun this year! We spent it in Utah with both of our families and it was fun to see them both. I may have gotten stung by a bee/hornet/wasp...whatever it was....twice. Yup, you read that right...TWICE. But it was still a good day :)
Here's our video (bee sting not featured)

Summer Solstice

A day full of paddleboarding, bike riding, summer treats and sunshine! Josh and I had a great summer solstice. What a great way to spend the longest day of the year! How did you spend yours??

We should all be a little kinder

The other day I was sitting in class and we were talking about stereotypes. They started naming off some stereotypes, like when you think of a taxi driver you think of someone from the middle east. Or how there are a lot of Mormon dentists (are there a lot of Mormon dentists? This one doesn't seem super fair...let's be honest-there are just a lot of dentists in general)
One girl raised her hand and was obviously very opinionated about the topic and said (in a not so nice way) "every girl who has a camera thinks she is a photographer. Just cause you have a camera or Photoshop does not make you a photographer." The guy behind her was like "yeah! It's ridiculous!" She continued on to say "and every single Mormon mommy blogger out there and is also a photographer on the side of course." As I listened I started to get a little angry. Obviously I like to blog (I'm not a Mommy blogger yet...but still) and I also love photography and taking photos and it takes more than a camera to be a photographer (not saying that I'm professional....at all).
Her comments stayed with me the rest of the day and I had such bad feelings about it. I vented to my husband about it and just couldn't forget it.
I finally came to the conclusion of why I was so bothered by her comments. They were rude. They were calling out people for having hobbies and doing things they like. That to me seems so stuck-up and rude. You might get bothered thinking "everyone" with a camera thinks they are a photographer. But how about instead of being bothered by that, you embrace it. Be grateful that if you ever want pictures taken-you have a ton of people that are excited to help you! Appreciate their good photos and their hard work. You might be annoyed seeing people post blogs about life but you don't have to read it and if you do read it, maybe you'd appreciate one of their stories, one of their thoughts. You might learn something from their blog or maybe you'd find some inspiration.
I don't know where someone gets the right to judge others for their hobbies, their interests. None of us are going to apologize for our photos and for our blogs. And we don't have to. I think everyone in this world has the room to grow and be a little kinder. Everyone has their own hobbies and things they enjoy doing. Just because a lot of people enjoy the same thing-doesn't give anyone a reason to attack someone for it.
Keep doing what you love! Don't let anyone take that from you.
Rant over. Let's all be a little kinder, yeah? :)

Ringing in 2015

Happy New Year!!
New Years Eve is one of my favorite holidays! I just love the feeling of a fresh start and a new year with new opportunities. You never know where you'll be in a year and what will happen!
Every year I make a bucket list for the year (In case you don't know...I love bucket lists) I love going through and crossing off things and then getting the chance at the end of the year to see what I've done and remember all the good memories.

We're Back!!

Hey y'all! Sorry I've been kinda MIA. Cue the usual excuses about being soo busy..school and work blah blah blah and yet all true.
So let's do a quick recap post for the past 3 months. (has it really been 3 months since the last time I posted?? Oh geez.)

-We went to Frightmares for the first time. I love Lagoon! Josh doesn't quite understand my love but he enjoys it still. There was a show of a bunch of guys dancing with chainsaws...it was hysterical and confusing all at once.

-For Halloween we were Barbie and Ken and if I may say so we did a pretty good job.

-We finished off school strong...ish and are now celebrating 4 months without school.
-I got Josh hooked on One Tree Hill and we are almost done! Proud of that accomplishment.
-We have been celebrating every holiday every day. I found a website online that tells what every holiday is...and there is one every day and it is awesome!
Aura Awareness Day

Roof Over Your Head Day

Bathtub Party Day

Now with some big news...we have decided to move to Minnesota for a few months while we are on a break from school! We are going to be working with my brother in law and his company. We are pretty excited for the new adventure and you'll be hearing plenty of stories!

Well, we are celebrating our own Christmas by ourselves before we head to his parent's house so I'll have to wrap *pun intended* up this post and go celebrate our Christmas Eve. Josh has never seen It's A Wonderful Life so that is on our list for tonight! Merry Jorgensen Christmas Eve :)
