Double date Friday

Last night we did a double date with some of our good friends. We did a Mexican theme dinner with tacos, guacamole and of course the delicious Mexican Coke! Then we spent the rest of the night playing the Wii and playing Oodles of Doodles. We now love Oodles of Doodles! It is soo funny! (try and guess what any of those drawings are!)
It's such a blessing having good friends that you can hang out and laugh with for hours.
We are grateful for Fridays like these with friends like these :)

31 Weeks

How far along: 31 weeks
Baby size of: Pineapple! (seriously, take me back to Hawaii!)
Total weight gain: 22ish pounds! He's growing fast!
Maternity clothes: I just buy medium size t-shirts. Maybe I'll wear them after pregnancy too! Baggy shirts are still in style right??
Sleep: Trying to get as much of it as I can before Baby J comes!
Cravings: Guacamole! We've eaten it twice this week already but I'm still craving it!
Aversions: Nope!
Best moment this week: I felt Baby J's foot was pushing through my stomach!! It was super weird and super awesome! We've also been working on the nursery more and it's almost done! It's so cute! I love it!
Emotional moment this week: How about hilarious moment this week?? I definitely took my bowl and spoon from breakfast in to the bathroom and was washing it in the sink there. Hahaha I'm losing it!
Belly button: Shallow but hasn't popped out yet!
Wedding ring on or off: Still on :)
Looking forward to: We have an ultrasound next week and we can't wait to see our little man!

I have the travel bug so bad right now! All I want to do is travel somewhere and explore! We are a little limited considering the pregnancy though :) Can't wait to start showing our baby the world!

Maternity shoot

I know it was a little early to take maternity photos but we couldn't miss the opportunity to have Abbey take our pictures before she left! Plus...you can never have too many photos right?? She was so great and we had a blast! We just had to make sure I was helping push baby out a little for some of the poses haha :)
Thanks again for the pictures Abbey...we love them!
If you're ever in the Washington area and want pictures done...contact her! And you can see more of her work here.

Winter woes

It's been pretty cold and snowy here lately. Snow is beautiful (most of the time) but we needed a little green to brighten up our lives, so we bought a bunch of plants for our apartment! We love them! It's nice to have a little green to battle those winter woes :)

30 Weeks

How far along: 30 weeks
Baby size of: Cantaloupe!
Total weight gain: About 20 pounds now!
Maternity clothes: Yes, yes, yes
Sleep: Sleep has gotten a little harder lately...don't really know why. I guess my tummy is just getting in the way. I love my body pillow though. It's soo comfy! I also still love my pregnancy dreams...hilarious!
Cravings: Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate. I can't get enough. Seriously, I'm constantly craving it.
Aversions: Nooope!
Best moment this week: We got 3 boxes of baby clothes from my Mom and sister and it's so exciting! They are darling! It's crazy to think our little man will be wearing them in about 10 weeks!
Emotional moment this week: I don't really have any funny stories from this week...I was pretty bummed when our favorite inside tree died. But then Josh and I went and bought a bunch of new plants...they'll get their own little blog post soon!
Belly button: Stretched and sometimes a little white around it (it must be really stretching!) but it is still in!
Wedding ring on or off: On! Honestly I'm surprised. My ring has always been pretty tight so once I start swelling at all I won't be able to wear it. I'm pretty happy I can still wear it though!
Looking forward to: An ultrasound in a couple weeks!! And getting back my blood results from my appointment today.

Happy 30 weeks to me and our little Baby J! He's doing so good and growing as he is supposed to. I even got to feel a body part sticking out a few days ago! I'm not sure what it was, but it wasn't the typical hard feeling...it was sharp and poking out! Maybe his elbow :) He is still moving all the time and I love it. I talk to him constantly :) We went to the doctor today and they did the glucose test and the hemoglobin test. I'll get the results tomorrow so hopefully we get good news!! :) I can't believe we only have 10 weeks left!

Christmas in North Carolina

Christmas was so fun this year! We were able to spend it in North Carolina with my side of the family and it was fun to show Josh all our traditions and shove our faces full of yummy food (seriously, so much good food). The 70 degree weather was definitely a perk and made it super hard to leave and come back to the snow.
One of my favorite things is seeing how well Josh gets along with my family. It's been such a blessing that I couldn't have even imagined how well it worked out. The Christmas season is definitely a great time to reflect on all the blessings that came that year...especially my awesome family :)

P.S. I posted a ton of pictures from Christmas (actually always...I post a lot of pictures always) so if you wanted to see more follow me on Instagram!

29 Weeks

How far along: 29 weeks
Baby size of: Pineapple :) Now I just want to go back to Hawaii!!
Total weight gain: About 19 pounds
Maternity clothes: Still loving them and my leggings.
Sleep: Like a log! I had the funniest dream this past week that Josh and I were meeting up on campus for lunch (which was actually at my old high school's cafeteria) and all these girls were coming up and flirting with him right in front of me. One even said she would take his backpack to class for him. When I told Josh about the dream he laughed and said "so flirtatious! Taking my bag to class for me!" hahaha
Cravings: Currently it's cinnamon bread!! Just got a free slice from Great Harvest and it was soo good.
Aversions: Nope. Food is awesome.
Best moment this week: Josh and I went to Cold Stone this past weekend and they have that new fudge truffle ice cream...it's pretty much the best thing ever. It tastes like raw brownie mix! Yum! *This post talks about food a lot....I think it's time for lunch*
Emotional moment this week: After my dream I was pretty pathetically sad...considering it was a dream and not real and I don't even know who any of those girls were...
Belly button: IN!! Hasn't popped out yet!
Wedding ring on or off: It is still on! I think all this cold winter weather has helped me from swelling.
Looking forward to: A couple boxes coming in the mail from my Mom! More baby things! :)

The best parts of being sick while pregnant

I felt a cold coming on last night and sure enough when I woke up today I was feeling sick. So...the best parts of being sick while pregnant?

-You can't take any good medicine to help you through it.
-You can't take a bath and standing in the shower just isn't the same.
-You aren't hungry but it's kind of important to make sure you're feeding the little person inside of you.
-Sleeping is even harder than it already was.
-Believe it or not, life doesn't stop...you still have to work and do other stuff. (although I love my job and I work from home, so it could be worse)
-You're even more tired than you already were.
-You're even more emotional than you already were.
-As if you weren't hot enough just being pregnant, add in a fever and you're really loving life.
-You have an excuse to watch TV all day.
-Your husband takes care of you.

Okay, those last two are actually good ones. And hey, I got dressed and ready for the day so I'm off to a pretty impressive start.

Hello third trimester

Today officially marks the beginning of my third trimester! It seems so close and yet still so far. We can't wait to meet our little man. I've been so lucky with my pregnancy that I really can't complain too much. The best feeling is his little baby kicks (although they are definitely getting stronger and stronger) and sharing the fun pregnancy experience with family and friends. We spent Christmas in North Carolina (more on that later) and it was so fun!

For the rest of the pregnancy I wanted to do the weekly pregnancy questions...so here we go!

How far along: 28 weeks
Baby size of: Eggplant/Coconut
Total weight gain: I've gained 18 pounds so far
Maternity clothes: I got my official first pair of maternity jeans last week and they are awesome! Seriously soo comfy. I also got another pair of pants, a dress and some shirts...so it's official.
Sleep: Been sleeping pretty well except for the bathroom trip once a night. I love the crazy dreams you get while pregnant. They are so funny!
Cravings: Don't have anything too specific this week...just the usual sweets and junk food. He's definitely our child.
Aversions: Nope! Thankfully!
Best moment this week: Spending some time in North Carolina with my family.
Emotional moment this week: I maybe teared up on the plane because I really had to go to the bathroom and instead of standing by the door (they specifically tell you not to! Doesn't anyone listen??) I was sitting in my seat a few rows away from the bathroom and every time someone came out I stood up to go back there and someone would cut in front of me...it happened like 4 times.
Belly button: Still in! It's stretching though...
Wedding ring on or off: ON! I haven't started swelling yet!
Looking forward to: Finishing the nursery!
